Another poor attempt at being artsy. Perhaps I should create another blog for the artsy not so Paris photos...

So I am still pretending to be artistic or something like that plus I alway thought the stairs here looked cool and I am moving out in two days so I figured it was high time I took a photo of them.

French trees. Oh yeah!

more garden

After Montmatre I said to myself, "why not go to the Jardin du Luxembourg?" So I did. I am trying to experiment and get better with this photography thing so these are my somewhat pathetic attempts.

From a different angle. I like the little girl running infront of it.

I went off by myself for a bit today. It was nice. I walked around Montmatre a bit. The weather was beautiful. This is the merry-go-round infront of Sacre Coeur as featured in Amelie.

Tonight I went to a movie followed by a drink at a nearby cafe. Sara, me, Kristen, Alex, Patrick and Ilaria.

Marie's bedroom

The hall of mirrors where several really important treaties were signed.

The bed where Louis XIV died.

More of Versailles. Quite frankly, Louis, you taste in interior design is not so great.

After our pique-nique we rented bikes and biked around the grand canal. I felt so French and I really liked ringing the bell.

Inside Versailles

So quaint!

Marie Antoinette's play land.

Another part of the grounds

Trees lining the path around the grand canal.

Boats on the canal

The fountain infront of the grand canal. There is an Apollo theme to this one.

More garden and fountain

Me and the chateau.

The really big cool looking fountain.

Today I went to Versailles with a group from Sciences Po. On certain days all the foutains are on and there is classical music playing. It is really cool. The music really adds to the ambiance of being at a huge castle.

The view from the terrace behind Versailles over looking the grand canal.

The Louvre

Le Pont Neuf

Yesterday I had some free time so I decided to go for a walk. I stared out at Notre Dame and walked along the Seine towards the Arc de Triomphe.

After the National Assembly we went to the Ministry of Defense Veterans affairs office. Part of the tour was the bunker downstairs.

Inside of the hemicycle where the assembly is actually held

Library again

Tom and Georges Pompidou

Inside of the National Assembly

Again for Erica, more library. It is huge and still in use.

Close up of the Obelisk. Oh Napeoleon...way to take other countries artifacts and make them your own.

The view from the steps of the National Assembly. Note Sacre Coeur on the right.

The National Assembly is right across the river from le Place de la Concorde.

Today Tom and I decided to play tourist. I forgot what it is called but this weekend a lot of buildings were open for the public to tour. First we went to l'Assemblee National.
