Sign right off my metro stop.

Same sign in color. Thank you 3x digital zoom!

Pharmacy in black and white. Makes it more artistic, er something. I think it looks cool.

Street right by my apartment.

View of the 19th with the sienna color setting. Thats right, my camera has a sienna setting.

After working on my paper all day Saturday I rewarded myself with a walk in le Parc des Buttes Chaumont so I could experiment with my camera more.

View of the 19th in black and white.

A not so good photo of my titre de sejour. HA! Screw you France. I put up with all of your stupid bureaucracy. I got a chest x-ray. I gave you more id photos than I could have ever imagined. But I am staying in your country for a year. HA!

Chopin's grave.

Jim Morrison's grave. Rather anti-climatic after searching for awhile. There is a gaurd constantly standng watch so no one does anything.

Oscar Wilde's grave. I think it is kinda ugly and weird looking and it was pointed out to me that the figure is missing his penis. That amused me.

Today I went out with Judith and one of her friends. We had the intention of going to see a play but it was sold out so we went to Pere Lachaise, the really big cemetery with lots of important famous people buried there. This is the grave of Edith Piaf.

Monkeys!!! The whole thing was rather random but I guess that is why it had the entertainment value it did.

Only in France will you find stuffed geese in Victor Hugo's dining room.

The we went to la Maison de Victor Hugo. In the information booklet about nuit blanche there was talk of monkey and wild animals. This excited us more that it probably should have a group of 20 year olds. Then, after some thought, we realized they probably weren't going to let monkies loose in a historic monument. But what we did see was rather entertaining. Who isn't amused by a stuffed giraffe in Victor Hugo's apartment?

Dogs going crazy!

The back of Hotel de Ville

This is a short video so you get a better idea. Sorry it is sideways. I can't fix that. Just be glad there is any video at all.

The instalation ended outside with a huge sheet and the music and the lights. We just sat and stared at it for about 15 minutes. It was so mesmerizing.

Action shot of the sheet moving.

It just was so cool!

Then you entered a hallway lined with columns and the same cloth was behind all of them with the cool lights and music.

The drapes with a different light shining on them.

This is the Hotel and you can kinda see the cloth on both sides.

Once you walked into the building these drapes of sort were hanging on both sides. There were cool lights and techno music playing. The juxaposition of the music and lights and the old building was really cool.

This is the entrance to Hotel de Ville. I don't actually know what function this building has but it is really cool and old looking.

Me and Tom. Look how French I am! The scarf! The coat! The glasses! I just really like my pashmina.

Alan and Tom standing in line.

Last night was Nuit Blanche. This is when Paris is open all night and there are art installations, concerts, movies, whatever going on all over the city all night long. I went with Tom, Alan and Perwah. The first stop was Hotel de Ville where there was some big art instalation. There were some nice fountains there and I said, "why not take a picture?" so here is a picture.

More of the kitchen.

Judith's room

The kitchen.

The shower, because I know everyone wanted to know what my shower looks like. Please note that one has to hold the showerhead up their self. This means that one cannot take the truly relaxing long shower. C'est la vie.

Judith's sister's room. She is currently in New York so it is a spare room/storage room of sorts.

The entrance

The bathroom!

The other side of the living room.

The view from my balcony. That's right. I have a balcony!

My room as seen from the balcony
