Phil infront of the Pantheon. This angle doesn't quite do the dome justice.

Phil inside the Pantheon. The statue says "Vivre libre ou mourir" (Live free or die). Phil said the Pantheon was one of the highlights of his visit.

Phil and I went out to a real French dinner. My first one since arriving in France. Phil, however, thought ordering saurkraut at a French place would be an awesome idea. At least my steak au poivre was delish.

Phil and le Centre Pompidou. Oh that modern art...

City Hall where the Nobel prize ceremony takes place. Not so neato looking on the outside but there is a nice courtyard and is rather lovely inside.

View of Stockholm from Skansen

Ilaria and myself with a bit too much flash in Skansen

Ilaria, Kristen, Philippe and myself at the entrance to Skansen a big open air museum/market/zoo

Philippe infront of a very festive Stockholm street.

Me and a view of Stockholm from of the islands farther away from the center of the city.

Changing of the guard at the Royal Palace

Thursday night Ilaria, Philippe, Kristen and myself left for the wonderful city of Stockholm, Sweden. "Why go to a nordic country in the winter?" you ask. I answer, "why not? Plus it is really cheap" So to Stockholm we went celebrating our first holiday from Sciences-Po. This here is just some random Swedish building. Looks nice, though.

Tom on the Champs-Elysees with Christmas lights. This right after the best collection of impressionism ever?!?! I was the happiest of all the campers.

Le grand palais. This is where Tom and I went to see the Turner, Whistler, Monet exhibit which was the most stupendous thing I think I have ever seen in my life. Impressionism everywhere. I was one happy camper.

Today I went for a walk between Belleville and Republique. The halfway point is l'Hopital St. Louis which was built in the 1700's to take care of plaque victims. It is still a functioning hospital. Crazy! This in the courtyard i nthe middle of the old hospital.

Outside of the really old hosptial.

Sunday I went to the Centre Pompidou with Philippe as the first Sunday of the month all the museums are free.
