The statue of St. Gellert who tried to convert the Hungarians to Christianity and they responded by putting him in a barrel and rolling him down the hill and into the river. At least he got a neat monument out of the deal.

Pretty chruch, cool statue and Tom.

The Hungarian Statue of Liberty which is on top of the hill next to the Citadel.

Friday we took the train from Brasov and 5 hrs or so later we were at Cluj-Napoca, Romania. This is the town where the mayor is crazy nationalistic and paints everything with Romania's colors. Note these flag poles in the town square.

Tom on Romanian park bench.

Me on Romanian park bench.

St. Nicolas Church. It is right next to the first Romanian school.

The view of Brasov from the top of the mountain. It was a nice little cable car ride. All the ugly communist architecture is to the left of the frame.

The castle from the bottom of the hill.

View from the castle

Outisde of the castle

Thursday we decided to go to Bran, Romania aka, the home of Dracula. We paid about 15 euros for the round trip fare and it was quite the experience with a man who spoke little English in a car that seemed to be on its last legs. But it worked so that is good. This would be the courtyard of Dracula's Castle.

The Bastionul Graft on the outside of the city wall right by the Black Tower

Me and the view of Brasov.

View of Brasov from the White Tower.

Tom and the Black Tower which isn't really black.

Tuesday night Tom and I took the train from Budapest to Brasov, Romania. 11 hrs on a train is really awesome! It was well worth it as Brasov was beautiful. This is the town square.

Parliament from Fisherman's Bastion

Me and the view of Pest from Fisherman's Bastion

me, Tom and Pest

inside of Mathais Church in Buda

There is a labyrinth under Buda and it takes you on this "new-agey" tour and at one point there is a wine fountain. Why? I have no idea but I still felt inclinded to take a photo.

View of Pest and the Parliament from Buda Castle.

Szechney Bridge, it is really pretty and they light it up at night.

Buda Caslte as seen from Pest.

That would be me infront of St. Steven's Basillica

The front of the castle that is now some museum.

Me infront of Vajdahunyad vara, aka some pretty castle in Millenium Park

Me in the same place. Please note the rockin' hat.

Tom at the entrance to the Millenium Park. The park celebrates the 1,000 aniversary of the Myagars conquering Hungary.

More of the same square but this time with statute

Kodaly Korond a square on a really nice street in Pest. This was also Tom's first experience with snow.

Buda Castle from across the Danube at night.

The parliament building in Budapest at night.

We flew Wizz Air, a hungarian low fare airline to Budapest. I was very amused by the large pink airplane.

This past week I went to Eastern Europe, Budapest and Romania to be precise. This would be Tom at Beauvais airport rockin' the fanny pack.

garden located near the giant creepy head

From Opera I ended up near les Halles where there is a big head and hand in the middle of the place. Kinda creepy.

From the biker area I heading over to Opera. This is the big Opera in Paris.

From Tuileries I headed into the first and stumbled across a group of guys doing freestyle biking whatnot. Kinda cool and reminded me of Chaz. I would like to add that they were doing there little bike tricks infront of an Audi dealership. I found the juxtaposition entertaining.

A statue in Tuileries and the Eiffel Tower in the background!!!!

Tuileries and the Musee d'Orsay in the background.

There are lots of small boats that kids push with sticks in the fountain in the middle of the park.

From St. Germain I walked to Tuileries. Note the Obelisk and the Arc de Triomphe in the background.

Friday I finish my first semester at Sciences-Po. Such a good feeling. That left me with Saturday and Sunday to relax and not worry about anything before departing on Monday morning. So today, with it being quite lovely out and all, I decided to take a walk. I started On St. Germain where I stumbled across a rollerblade parade.
