visa and plane ticket

Yesterday Dad and I went down to DC to the Belgian embassy and I now have my visa! Dad has to come and sign a specific paper in person and bring pay stubs and yadda yadda yadda. Basically it was a giant pain that I find to be totally unnecessary but who am I to judge? But I have my visa and that is all that matters!

Then today I bought my plane ticket. I leave August 27th from Dulles and arrive at 8am in Brussels.

Now all I need to do is get loan stuff in order.

Preparation

My departure for Brugge is fast approaching. There is still quite a bit that needs to be done. Tomorrow I am calling the Belgian embassy to see how my visa is progressing. I have applied and am in the middle of the 4-6 weeks needed to fully process it. All I have to say is that French bureaucracy cannot hold a candle to Belgian bureaucracy. I also need to get my FAFSA money so hopefully that will be taken care of sooner rather than later. My plane ticket also needs to be bought. I am really excited to go but very overwhelmed. There is a lot to take care of before I leave and I don't know what to expect from grad school. August 27th will be here sooner than I know it.
